This cartoon highlights the Canadian government’s negligence in handling the pandemic and its failure to protect the public health care system, jeopardizing the lives of countless people, particularly our most vulnerable citizens. This is compounded by Canada’s shameful and continued hoarding of vaccines that sit stacked in warehouses and fridges; doses that should be shared with the Global South. I’ve also tried to take a ‘jab’ at the Trudeau government’s carefully constructed (and mostly performative) ‘progressive’ image, which is daily contradicted by its actions and behaviour both at home and abroad.
