Job opportunity: Office Manager
We’re hiring!
Canadian Dimension is seeking an enthusiastic and conscientious Office Manager to administer the day-to-day operations of the publication, manage subscriber relations, and assist the Coordinating Committee in facilitating the preparation and production of the magazine. This position is based in Winnipeg.
Terms
- 20 hours a week
- Overtime (beyond 20 hours per week) must be approved in advance
- 6 month probation period
- $15/hour
- Holidays: 2 weeks after 1st year; 3 weeks after second year; 4 weeks after 5th year plus all legislated days off
Duties
- Manage records of subscriptions
- Receive and deposit funds
- Pay bills
- Invoice advertisers and other clients
- Data entry, using QuickBooks
- Perform cash account management, bank reconciliations and government remittances (GST. PST, CPP, UI, income tax deductions)
- Provide quarterly and annual budgets and financial reports
- Fulfil orders for magazines, merchandise
- Maintain an up-to-date manual of Canadian Dimension policies and procedures so that the office can function with volunteers in the absence of the administrator
- Respond to telephone, written and online enquiries that come to the office from all sources
- Attend the weekly Coordinating Committee online meeting and periodic meetings of the board of directors
- Coordinate subscription and subscription renewal activities
- Maintain a functional filing system; keep the office clean and tidy
Knowledge of bookkeeping software such as QuickBooks will be considered a strong asset.
