Eco-socialist Dimitri Lascaris came within a narrow margin of winning the Green Party leadership race on October 3. With a call to “wrest power from private corporations and bring the economy under democratic control”, he gained 10,081 of 22,171 votes on the final ballot. How could this happen in a party that has derisively been labelled as “conservatives with composters”?
