Winnipeg Activism Across Generations

The good folks at the Winnipeg Youth Activist Retreat are putting on a great workshop with some people who have been involved in the Winnipeg Left for nearly forty years. One of them is even on our editorial collective!

Most of today’s young activists in Winnipeg know little about the activism of 40, 20 or even 5 years ago — this panel will address a few experiences of the past for young people who want to change the world today.

Panelists:

Henry Heller - on New Left youth activism in the 60s Wendy Land - on pro-choice organizing Bronwyn Dobchuk-Land - on the high school anti-war walkouts of 2003

Date: Friday, August 8, 2008 Time: 7:00pm - 8:30pm Location: Crossways in Common Street: 333 Furby Street City/Town: Winnipeg, MB
