I attended a performance of Canada Steel by accident, thinking I would see the play in the adjoining theatre. I was disappointed and p.o.'d but decided to stay with a You-never-know shrug. What a fortuitous mistake!

I was thoroughly taken with the piece; not only the excellent performances, but the quality of writing, simplicity of storytelling, the tautness and logic of the text and the necessity and timeliness of interest in the subject matter.

My belief in unionism is strong and of long standing, but there are, indeed, examples of a lack of union support for its members, going back over many years, and we should not shy from recognizing these mistakes. I can draw on personal historical data and illustrations of how learn and grow from them...or not

I'm still in awe of the actors' mastery throughout that piece and their brave honesty in its telling.I look forward eagerly to Canada Square.

Sorry to go on at such length but I wanted to let you know how moved and affected I was (and am) by the experience I was allowed to share. There is much more to be said, I'm sure, not by me but by playwrights such as Karol Korczynski. We are fortunate to have him. And he, and we, are particularly fortunate to have a company of performers such as yourselves.

Merde!! as we say in Canada.

I am a Cuban national living now in Canada. I had the pleasure of seeing the play "Canada Steel" at the Tarragon Theater. I was impressed on many levels, from been so accurate as to what is happening to the working class across North America and around the world to the impact of current global circumstances on normal folks. The play captured the audience's attention so deeply to the point it felt it lasted only 45 minutes. You laugh, you think and you wake up to the workers' suffering these days. I recommend this play be brought back on stage for others to enjoy.

I was very pleased to see the review of Canada Steel that appeared in the latest issue of Canadian Dimension Review. I saw Canada Steel during it’s run in Toronto and was so impressed I went again with my teenage children.

I believe that we should take every opportunity to discuss social and political issues with our children. I protested the Viet Nam war, walked a picket line with the workers at Dare and, six years ago, had my job outsourced. My grandfather was part of the Great Sit Down Strike in Flint Michigan, that created the UAW, my Grandmother sending food up through the windows in baskets. My other Grandfather worked all of his life in the mines in Sudbury. They would have recognized every character in this play, because they knew them. As did I. As do my children.

Though set in Hamilton, this play would work in ANY union city, Sudbury, Halifax, Windsor, Detriot. Finding theatre that can entertain as well as educate is an all too rare opportunity, and not to be missed

I had the privilege to see the recent performance of Canada Steel at the Tarragon Theater in Toronto in February of this year. I was so impressed with this play my immediate feeling was that this performance needed to be seen by a wider audience. Canada Steel has a powerful and important message for current times and it reinforced in me the power of theater as an art form. I felt this was important, particularly from someone that does not get the opportunity to see too much theater these days. I am from Hamilton, Ontario where the play is set and I very much wish the play could be performed in Hamilton that my friends and colleagues could see this important piece of Canadian theater.
