The issues of privatizing water and wastewater treatment should not be lumped into the same analysis. It does the average person, who does not really understand the difference, an erroneous impression that the two infrastructure systems work hand in hand and have the same 'spectacle' of potential disasters.

I look forward to a separate analysis of the wastewater treatment industry and how privatizing operations and maintenance might actually be beneficial for some communities.
