Very interesting indeed, how predators (really in this case colonial-minded individuals and patriarchal sexists) choose their victims. I am a mixed-raced individual who has been harassed by the police several times for fighting against racist and sexist policies in this country as well as being met with indifference and disinterest along with apathy when going to their aid for crimes committed against me. The predators, racists who have attacked me have used the very system against me - the system of which indigenous and women of color often seek help from. The descendents of white colonialists hasn't changed one bit. There is always the stereotypes that because of my skin color, I think, act or behave a certain way. All we women ask (indigenous in particular) as Canada is THEIR country first and foremost is that we have the right to self-determination and self-government. Before the white man came the world was in balance and harmony, matriarchal when MEN respected women and a culture of sharing and communication with others.
